  • Aging Alone

    Ever wondered who would you want to grow old with? Your friends, your siblings, your offsprings, your spouse?

    There is no dearth of options. As economies start aging, formalized old age resorts would be a viable option for those who can afford. Ofcourse state-run welfare programs rarely target this age group, except for retirement pension schemes which already weigh down the government’s balance sheet. But besides the maths and economics of it all, the social and psychological tangent is also an aspect to ponder. Would you be open to embracing new faces in your silver years?

    Or is it enough to have just I, me, myself for vibing and slaying these post-retirement years? So that you can spend time the way you want, structure your life around your own priorities and live unhinged. With great freedom may come greater loneliness, so be prepared to welcome the silence and the solitude as a blissful change in your life!

  • To leave is easy

    But to stay is tough. To endure is courageous. To remain committed is brave.

    Because there is no newness, there is little room for surprise and there isn’t an element of thrill that might be unexplored. Unlike the early days where everything is rosy, real life is a riot of all hues. Some vivid, others sombre and a few downright nasty.

    Best to keep your rosy glasses on for optimal experience – as they say happiness is me!

  • Alone, and not lonely

    Yes there is a difference. & It’s not mere word play. Learn to enjoy the company of the most reliant, always available soul i.e. yourself and trust me, you’ll never feel lonely.

    Not being selfless doesn’t mean being selfish. There is an in between path too. It is one where everyone is equally important, no more, no less. Where everyone is entitled to exercise their choice, experience their freedom, love their dreams and guard their happiness. After all there is ample space for everyone in this universe, so if u can’t find some room for yourself,  nudge and make way buddy. You deserve it, have no doubt.

    Lastly, remember when no one’s around and you find yourself at loss of company, be sad not. This is the best time to go fulfill your bucket list. No better company than yourself would ever exist. So go ahead and aim for stars. Even if you miss, you’ll land at least on the moon. And that would be the silver lining of your dark cloud.

    I can do it alone. I must and I will. Make it your anthem, go make the most of your time on earth. 💪
