  • Live rich, die poor

Most of us are taught to save up for a rainy day. But in reality most of us end up living this saying to the T; to an extent that we even sacrifice our today for this tomorrow. We are so focused on earnings and savings that current comforts take a backseat. Whatever remains afterwards is what’s used to bring form and functionality to current living. This I call as the frugal life. It’s good for a short sprint but not sustainable in the long run.

On the other hand, some of us are almost always living this philosophy in the reverse manner. So they spend the paycheck the minute it lands and the thought of savings doesn’t cross their mind very often. More often than not, such folks keep very little to no track of their earnings (& thereby spendings). I call this the chill life. Again can run for a short while but definitely not keeping for the long run.

How if we trained our minds and spending habits to focus on the present comforts? I say comforts, not luxuries cos then sky is the limit. Choose functionality over flashy. Choose practicality over poshness. So what we earn we spend to make daily life comfortable and worth the grind. This way we spend more when we live than save for more when we die. Thereby making the most of the money we earn by spending wisely on today than mindlessly saving for tomorrow!
