  • Time : Reality or Myth

Time though a well established fourth dimension, is perceived differently by everyone. It seems to pass slowly when facing hardships and flies fast when in celebratory mode.

What if we were told that time never existed? Actually it has no tangible existence until defined by milestones. Time is just our mind’s way of recording memories, events and happenings of life. It’s a medium to record, annotate and even rank our life as it happens.

  • Ebb and flow

Disappointed by the way your interaction with friend/colleague/neighbour/partner turned out? Feeling sore? Wondering if you did something wrong or they didn’t get you?

We have all been there, done that, haven’t we. Spent hours of time and loads of energy analyzing (sometimes over analyzing). What went wrong, what could you have done differently, what can you still do to salvage the situation?

Cut to the chase, we can view each action as a wave in the ocean. These actions come and go in our life, hitting us differently each time. Just like no two waves are similar, your and the other person’s actions during an interaction may not be similar. Or of the same intensity or even complementary to each other. You may be riding a high, and them a low. Or vice versa. Just bearing in mind that these waves are not permanent and lasting, makes us more accepting and less anxious as an individual.

After all each of us are on our unique journeys, some ahead, some behind. Some nearing one milestone of life and others at another crossroad. The best part is that we are all beings of the same ocean, shall meet here and there. One day, some day.

  • The new normal

They say time and tide wait for none, and so shouldn’t I,

But then it’s been ages, been a while,

That I felt elated, felt life on a note this high,

Feeling the emotional tank overflow, sigh!

Content, comfortable and smiling in my world,

In the new relations and rituals I was curled.

Blissfully unaware of what I had lost on the way,

Or maybe aware but keeping it all tucked away.

Don’t go that path; cautioned my mind,

Keeping turning away, an eye blind.

This new you has all the strength,

Go embrace it and tread the length.

Said my heart and good Lord I did hear it,

Not going to be easy so take it a bit by bit.

Easy it wasn’t, flowers and thorns alike,

I like the journey, as much as I now dislike.

Clear judgement of what’s right and wrong,

We are in the rightful places where we belong.

So lighten up, smile and keep it sort of formal,

After all this is going to be the new normal!
