  • मिथ्या – A myth

Like the weary desert traveller longs for a drop of water. Like the grass on the other side always seems greener, fulfilling and enduring. The same way those diamonds shining ahead, luring you of miraculous happiness may just be nothing but broken shards of glass which may cause bruises and immense pain instead.

    हमने अक्सर अपनी राहों में रुक कर, तुम्हारा इंतजार किया।

To not give into the allure, to use wisdom in the eye of quick pleasure. To not trace back your steps and repeat the same errors. To pull back to the reality of life, to find solace in not rocking the boat. Comes but not naturally. It is strenous, arduous and a knotty path. Drowning in the past and the future is easy. Stay afloat in the present.

  • Today is special too

Lots we do is about securing, planning and building the future.

Stashing away stuff for a prized event. Organizing routines for a special occasion. Looking forward to a celebration.

    Here & Now

All this when we can’t be sure of how tomorrow is going to turn out. Dead or alive, we can’t see into the crystal bowl.

So celebrate today. It’s a privilege to be alive & kicking. Having food on the plate, clothes to wear and roof over the head calls for being grateful and feeling special too.

  • Curse of Memory

Humand mind can travel faster than speed of light. It keeps taking memory trains; jetting out of one decade and zooming into nostalgia all at the drop of a hat. This flight can take one back to what one misses the most.

But it’s an adulterous relationship. Where one exists here but lives there. And truly never allows oneself to give their one hundred percent to the here & now. That which is tangible deserves your best. That which is present is who you are. Choose loyalty to the present, choose loyalty to thy self.

  • Meditating or Levitating?

Conventional wisdom defines meditation as an act of sitting still and focusing on one’s breathing definition. Objective is to stay in the present, focus on a singular aspect and let your mind not wander.

How about bringing the same focus and being in the present while doing dishes? Or laundry? Or while ironing clothes or brushing your teeth? Maybe you could be absolutely still in your mind while painting or knitting or training with your weight? After all we are talking about the stillness of the mind and not the body.

So time to turn our routine tasks  into a meditative zone. It can be your calm downtime before the storm of daily life hits you. Or a good break in the midst of the day when feeling overwhelmed with the noise and chaos. After all, all that is needed is that we focus and let the world fade away. I bet each of us has a meditative ritual, known or unknown where we enjoy our solitude while still being driven and focused on the task at hand. If not, I hope you find yours soon 😊
